Over 100 years ago, President and Founder of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Frank A. Seiberling looked up East Market Street and the rolling hills behind Goodyear and said, “Over there, I am going to build a city for Goodyearites.”   Originally called The Goodyear Allotment, the main idea was to provide affordable housing to employees. In July of 1912 during a factory meeting with foremen Seiberling, announced that he purchased 400 acres for the project just northeast of Goodyear’s main plant.
